Last year we had this Praying Mantis on our sliding glass door screen….
Then we had these very colorful birds eating the berries on the bush under the kitchen window
We have these crazy looking mushrooms growing in the back yard this year…..
And this Hawk swooped down & grabbed a little mouse and had dinner in our tree…
I love living here, you never know what you might see in the yard. We have had a Red Fox, a chipmunk, Woodpeckers galore, some Bats that we had to have removed by a wonderful “Bat Guy” Ed of PrecisionWildlife.com and Deer.Blossoms…..
Flowers, smells, birds chirping…love this time of year!

Project “Door’s”
One of the projects I did this month was to change the color scheme of my doors from a dark Red to Black. I forgot to take a before picture of the front door, but here is the “after” picture.

As you can see I also painted the 2 urns & the mailbox black as well. Now of course as with all my “Projects”, I start them & then finish them “whenever”. I only have about 6 or so more doors to paint including the barn doors!

What a gorgeous day! It was a little bit chilly & windy but just beautiful! Now if we had our sweatshirts it would have been a lot warmer!**News Flash-This picture just in from New York City….
My oldest daughter is in New York City with her friend shopping for wedding dresses and she sends me this picture from her phone saying, “Mom here is what your shop is going to look like someday.” I just love the way this shop looks, it’s exactly how I would love my shop to look…
Then as I am looking at the picture I realize this is a picture of one of Rachel Ashwell’s Shabby Chic stores! So now I am even more excited because not only does my daughter know my taste so well, she even sends me pictures so I can live thru her eyes! She is just a great kid! She has traveled so many places that I have not had the chance to see, so she always shares with me! How wonderful! She even mentioned a trip this summer just her & I to see this shop in person! It seems that Spring has sprung everywhere! The warm weather is here and the bees are buzzing, but the best part for me is that my flowers are in full bloom! Violets are popping up everywhere as well as my daffodills! The hostas are starting to peek out of the ground too! It’s so exciting to see them come to life! We have come across some fab finds along the way. More to come I am sure, along with the flowers & green grass!!!!
How to use Your IRS Rebate check…..
…As you may have heard, each of us (may be) will be getting a tax rebate check to stimulate the economy. If we spend that money at Wal-Mart, all the money will go to China. If we spend it on gasoline it will go to the Arabs. If we purchase a computer it will go to India. If we purchase fruits and vegetables it will go to Mexico, Honduras, and Guatemala. If we purchase a good car it will go to Japan. If we purchase useless stuff it will go to Taiwan and none of it will help the American economy.
We need to keep that money here in America. The only way to keep that money here at home is to spend it at YARD SALES, since those are the only businesses still in the United States!!!

New Finds!
This adorable boys quilt was such a find! I am sure any little boy would love to cuddle up with this cute little pup! You never know what you will find when you are just out browsing! The music box is a great gift for your daughter. “Always my Daughter” is engraved on the bottom and it plays “Always”! Another find that was unexpected! Two great bedside milkglass lamps in perfect condition! Roses were another suprise from my sweet boyfriend! I am so blessed to have a boyfriend who brings me home roses for no particular reason!
